Standard bank insurance is a rip off, for R319 per months I get a cover for R118k with Standard Bank insurance, where as I would be paying R146 for 130k cover with Virgin Money, Budget, 1st and 1st for women but instead I opted for them. My story is I had a claim for 11k, and they only paid 3k which to me doesn't make sense I'm not better than a person who is not insured, I read through their policy documents and couldn't find a clause that says that when you claim for 1000 you going to get only 100, I have a huge portfolio with standard bank insurance that includes my car, building cover, credit card insurance etc. before I cancel all my insurance and move somewhere cheaper I need to sit with someone and go through these clauses.
