I called and requested a settlement balance for my Platinum credi card - balance received and money paid. I was told it would take 5 working days to close. Ont the 10th working day I spoke to another individual who said: "sorry the lady you spoke to didn't send your request to the admin department you must wait anothe 5 days. As a customer service manager of a call centre I couldn't fathom that the individual at the retentions department didn't care that a service failure had happened. After arguing with him for about 5 minutes I requested to speak to his team leader who also said that he can't get the admin department to close my account early I must wait another 5 days. Afte rmuch argument, time and energy I managed to convince the individual to assist me. Anothe rthree days later my card account was closed and a paid up letter received, however I was charged a service that was supposed to be reversed and paid into my credit card.
I really don't want to write to the OBS, please would someone with decision making authority call me and help me, .
All my accounts have since been moved from FNB.
