I had two debit orders go off my account from First For Woman. I have never signed anything with FFW - I merely called for a quote. I have taken this up with FFW and they will refund me. They assure me they will also refund me for the R270 bank charges for stuff that was returned because there was not enough money in the account due to there debit order. Why does Nedbank allow debit orders to go off with absolutely no paperwork? Under who's authority did this happen? They say it's my responsibility and FFW's as they are the people I entered into an agreement with - BUT I NEVER ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT! When I want to do anything on my account I need passwords, profile numbers, authorisation codes. If I want to write out a cheque I must sign it and the bank will even call to legitimise the cheque. If I want to do anything in the bank, I must have my ID, proof of address and sign a bunch of forms. But debit orders can just go through my account with absolutely no authorisation?! And they wonder why they have so much account!
