Honouring Fees

I went to standard bank george a few weeks ago to change my surname because I got married. The consultant then informed me that she wanted to upgrade my account to a gold cheque account. She typed a whole bunch of things into her computer and told me she would contact me. That's it, I did not request another checque account, she just did it for me. ( I used to have a blue classic cheque acc). About 2 weeks later I received a sms saying my card was ready for collection. The 2 weeks before that I tried to contact them to find out what was happening with no success. Nobody told me that this gold cheque acc works any differently from my old cheque account. So I just assumed it would be the same. So when I checked my bank statement this morning, I was In a -R467. They had charged me 2 honouring fees of R120, R115 for a debit order that did not go off. I phoned the bank, and they just did not help. Said I should phone customer complaints, after the lady kept me online for 20 minutes. With my old acc, if I did not have money in the bank, that was it, there was no honouring fees! Some payments I made on 24 may only went off 28th, which never happened before. I want to change banks!!!
