FNB me over with upgrading account

So about 2 months ago, on the Internet banking site, FNB suggested I upgrade my account to Platinum. I thought they suggested it because I met the required income, etc. So I did, received my card 2 weeks later. All was well until I received NO ebucks for the month of April. I inquired about this and lo and behold I don't meet the salary requirements of R16500 (up from R5500 on Gold apparently).

Now I did start a new job at the end of April where my salary is now above the threshold, but what happens if I didn't? I would receive no eBucks ever just because my card colour changed? Good going FNB.

I was even more yesterday since I applied for a S4 on the banking (nothing about I cant do it) and all was well. Apparently a whole week later, I get a email saying my application was unsuccessful because I need 2 months of salary above the threshold (so have to wait 3 weeks now). This has nothing to do with my credit rating as it would've been successful if I had remained on the Gold account. So whats the point of being with FNB if I get no benefits and all they do is this underhand screwing over by offering upgraded accounts to anyone?

Really disappointed with this.
