Absa chip debit cards not working

I am seriously thinking of leaving Absa, after being a client for more than ten years, after several years of bad service, but today's events are the cherry on the cake. I recently changed my debit card to a chip card, and it was working fine for a few days, until the 1st of June 2013, when it was declined at several retail stores. The bank said it is not their fault, while the retail shops claim it is the bank's fault. Meanwhile it is extremely embarrasing for a client to have her card declined knowing that there are enough funds available. I also heard that I was not the only Absa client that this happened to on the same day! I just wish Absa will admit that their systems are faulty and start fixing the problem., but I am still considering moving my checque account to FNB. I hope this problem will be fixed soon, because nobody can do business like this.
