WORDS GIVEN NEW MEANINGS WHEN YOU CLAIM

I submitted a claim with MFC (Innovation Group) under my warranty policy. The policy states that "Should it be necessary to disassemble any component to establish the cause or extent of the damage, it is your responsibility to authorise such disassembly so as to establish whether there is any liability under your Policy." The issue here is that my gearbox needs to be disassembled, however MFC (Innovation Group) wants me to incur costs in order for them to determine their liability. My understanding of the wording is that I am the one that needs to give permission for the disassembling to take place. To authorise does not mean that I will be liable for the costs, it simply means that permission has been granted. The company's advisors and manager, gave me a different meaning over the phone, a meaning that is not stipulated in their contract. This policy is underwritten by their Insurer and has been, or at least I assume that it has been, through the hands of their legal department. It is then entirely your Insurer's prerogative to give meaning to words that may hold any other meaning than what is intended to be understood by the normal man on the street. They should be held liable!!!
