Service not tailor made to suit all customers

Urgently needed to transact with my standard bank card so i went to Standard bank ATM to perform a transaction and the next thing the ATM was blank and my card had disappeared. I then call their card division to sort it out and they then closed/stopped it accordingly. What i don't get is why i have to wait 5 or 6 working days before i can have access to the funds..some of us have bills to pay you know. How hard is it to grant someone temporary card or cash while waiting for the formal card. Now i might have to default on my instalments because of your stupid ATM... even worse now i'm the one who has to suffer as if it was my fault. I understand this might be a security control of some sort but i still don't understand why i should suffer because your ATM malfunctioned. You just can't handle all situations using one blanket control or approach, sometimes u need to listen to reason or consider facts at hand.
