On Sunday May 26 my car broke down and I was stuck at Villiers. To cut a long story short, the AA would not help me after 30 odd years of subscribing.
I noticed the sticker on my car saying Dial Direct Emergency Service. I did not even know they had such a thing. So I asked my son to call because there was no MTN signal and I had to use the attendants phone.
Not only did Dial Direct send a towing service to take the vehicle to the nearest Merc service in Vereeniging, but the operator Lindy, called back every 20 min to see if we were ok because we are in our mid 60's and my wife is diabetic.
She stopped calling when we were safely in my son's car on the way back.
Now that is the kind of service you seldom hear about and almost never experience, except with Dial Direct.
