1st of May my short term premium was not successful. I later learnt that Discovery has lapsed my policy. On enquiry I was then promised that my query will be sent to the Underwriters. The Underwriters gave a go ahead to reconsider my membership. The terms are as follows: I start a new policy. This means that I have lost all the Excess funder I have built to the tune of R7 000 all down the drain!! This is daylight. DO NOT go the Excess funder route incase you are in my situation. This is on ONE missed debit order which I hoped they would collect double with the next cycle due 01 June. To put salt to wound, my premium if I take a new policy with them is R200 more. If this is retention then I don't know. Worse my life policy and vitality still runs smoothly with them... DON'T BE TEMPTED with the EXCESS FUNDER. Rather do CASH BACK if you want to take a policy with them. I will have all those I recommende to take Discovery Insure cancel. Am sure it won't make much of a difference to them anyway.!!! One strike and you are doomed!!
