I would like to bring AVBOB's pathetic service to the attention of everyone. My brother died in Pretoria on 8 May 2013 at 14h20. His body was only collected from Sungardens Hospice at 18h00 that evening. On our arrival in Pretoria we immediately went to their offices to sort out arrangements. There was no compassion shown and I felt that it was all about the money. After the funeral service on 11 May, we were told that cremation would occur in the following week. However, to this day (two weeks later) NOTHING has been done. He has been laying all this time waiting to be cremated. I haven't so much as received an email or phone call from them to keep me updated on the situation. We cannot even have a memorial service in his hometown. After contacting the Pretoria West branch, I was told that the delay was due to submission of outstanding forms and that they only received the body on 17 May. I was assured that cremation would take place in the next day or two. Hopefully this will happen so that we can have closure.
