Money taken from account without autho

My credit card payment went off a day earlier than when my funds cleared in my account and then I paid the card in cash. I contacted the call centre to confirm that I had paid and they confirmed the receipt thereof. Today they have gone and taken that amount again on a debit order and I get told, oh sorry, its not showing so we cannot refund you and once it shows it takes 24hrs to clear. I am utterly upset that they can just take money without my autho and now I really need that money to buy food for myself and my two daughters and they have taken my money!!!
