I hv a homeloan protection plan with Credit Life through Standard Bank since 2010.On 18 Mar 2013 I called & faxed a request to amend policy as I could not afford the new scales - from Death, Temp dis, Retrenchm, Dread Dis TO Death Only. I called & got confirmation (Simphiwe) that my request was received & turnaround time is 48 hrs, docs were to be posted. After a few weeks I called again, still not done so I waited after a mnth I called again & Phindi advised me the delay was due to systems that were down & anyway difference on debit order wd b the following month after initial request & I WOULD BE REFUNDED whatever extra charge once systems are back to normal. Yesterday, 14th May - over 2 mnths after my initial request, I call again and speak to REFILOE WHO NOW TELLS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY, that t requested amended policy (Death Only) no longer exists as new policies hv bn effected instead, since when? a week ago - & the systems were only back to normal a week ago as well! She can't confirm that I will be refunded t diff! & t fact that when I requested this amendment 2 mths ago t policy did exist, not my fault if systems down. Promised to return to me t nx day but no. Need help pls!
