Discovery Card
Prima facia Unlawful deduction from FNB Smart Card

I opened an FNB Smart Card, which was activated on 13/5/2013. On this day, an amount of R4424.25 was deposited into such account by myself. I am currently unemployed and am a suffer of early onset idiopathic Parkinson's disease. As a result of the current economic climate, I have an outstanding debt with Discovery Credit Card which I have not been able to service. I have been in constant contact with Discovery Credit Card in this regard. On the morning of 14/5/2013, an unauthorized debit of R4000 was made from my FNB Smart Card by Discovery Health Card Collections. I immediately went to the FNB Rosebank Branch to report and was assisted by two wonderful staff members, Nontobeko and Mogesh Pillay. Virginia Moleka of Discovery Health Card Collections was contacted and I was told this is part of the standard conditions of the card. I was mailed a 16 page document, which I have never signed (despite having requested a signed copy of such). My circumstances are currently dire and am horrified by Discovery Health Card Collections callous and inhumane approach to dealing with my plight.
