I was recently involved in a serious car accident and I was hospitalized for 2 weeks. Luckily I took out a hospital plan to cover me in such an eventuality. Unfortunately for me the company I took out the policy with is AIG. I am waiting for my claim to be paid and then I will be cancelling this policy with them.
It has been two months since the claim was initially logged with them. All supporting documentation has been sent as it was requested by their incompetent call center in the PHILIPINES of all places. Every time I phone for an update I get given the same dribble that it is being processed and that I can expect payment within the next week. Well 5 weeks later and I do not believe you anymore.
I would like my claim settled ASAP. The only other recourse I can think of is going to the ombudsman, which I am seriously considering.
