I'd been with Standard Bank since my school days and continued with them through my first and second years of work, still using my old 'Mzansi account'. They called me offering me a cheque account (because of my salary bracket), I felt it was expensive and declined the offer, never went to fetch the new card, let alone sign a contract! Now I'm getting calls and SMSs that I must make payments on my lending account 'to avoid legal action' and that I owe Standard Bank money? How on earth do I owe them money when I've never signed a contract of any lending account? Every time I call this Thapelo guy on 011 492 0728 that I'm supposed to speak to, he's either on lunch or not at work, and no one else is 'able' to assist me! Please help me fight this, it's already messing with my credit health!!
