On Friday 26 April 2013, i went into an ABSA branch at sunninghill to downgrade my cheque account bundles, then a lady by the name of Ms Naidoo who is the customer service consultant offered me ABSA rewards, which i did not agree to; however on Saturday 27 April 2013 i was debited two amounts of R 252.00 and R 21.00 which I then queried with the ABSA reward department and spoke to Lerato Malebane who was very helpful and told me that she had cancelled the rewards and that i should have my refund within 5 days. on Thursday 09 May 2013, 11 days later i still have not received my refund. i have called the department again and this time i spoke to Maxeen Abdul (the Supervisor) who now suddenly informs me that they have a backlog on refunds. This is something new to my ears as the previous consultant (Lerato) failed to mention on our first contact.

ABSA have inconveneanced me with my own money. i have been banking with ABSA for more than 10 years and its shocking the way they treat their loyal clients. I am going to open a new account with a different bank as i cannot deal with such unproffesionalism.
