My original complaint about why I was charged R9.00 for a statement was dealt with in the following disgusting manner: because I was not aware of this fee my account will be credited, but as I am aware of it now they are informing me that from next month I will be paying this amount monthly.

There is a FALSE coffee advertisement on television that states that Standard Bank clients dont pay ANY EXTRAS, only the once off fee of R99 per month. GUESS WHAT??? After this advertisement was made, Standard Bank decided that their clients must pay extra over and above this R99 for a bank statement each month. They told me that if I am poor and don't have an email account, then I have the option of collecting my statements at my bank every month. So is the money for the statement or the postage??? THIS IS DISCRIMINATION!!
