Over the limit fee charged

My annual fee for my credit card was added on to my account this month. THe resulting fee put me over the limit. I got charged an over the limit fee. I feel it was unfair as I did not overspend it was a bank charge. I would like the over the limit fee reversed. I did send an email to the email address on my card statement but received no response.
