Payment of Accounts

I have an Absa Credit that i would like to pay off. In November 2012 i had phoned i asked for a settlement value on the account. I gave my email address and contact details and have still not received anything.
On 09 January 2013 i had called the call centre again and was then transferred to legal department for assistance. They said they have to request it from the backk office and they will email to me and that they could not give me any amounts and this will take 48 hours. I waited and there was no email. i called again MOnday 14 January 2013 to query this and they said that it will take another 48 hours to come through and that i could not get any assistance from the branch because its with the legal department.
How do you expect someone to pay off their account if the staff that is hired will not assist. Myself as the customer will be listed on the credit bureau for their mistake.
For me to pay an account is so hectic.
