In November last year I closed my credit card with FNB. In December I got a Temporary loan from them, stating that I will pay back the full amount in January. Yesterday 14th of February I got a nasty sms from FNB stating that I still owe them R1642.96. If this amount is not paid within 2 days, they will take legal action against me. I've taken out Temp loans before and always pay on time. They didn't let me know any money is outstanding. I will settle this amount today. I am also trying to take out a long term loan, and they keep rejecting it (now I know why). The least they could have done is sent me an sms soon after I was supposed to pay this money and I would've done it. Now they are threatening me with legal action and my credit record is shot to. I bank with FNB because I know they will let me know ASAP when anything is happening on my account, clearly I was mistaken.
