Booking ZA00082738 with Travestart for my daughter Kate and Hollie.
On Monday 4 March 2013 I researched, booked and paid Travelstart for tickets with Air France from London to Johannesburg. Cost R9002.
My daughter called at 5.30pm, to tell me of a problem with the booking as it arrived at Orly in Paris and departed from Charles de Gaulle to Johannesburg. She called Air France and they told her she needed a visa to cross Paris.
I called Travelstart before 6.00pm, on the same day, to either change or cancel the ticket, only to hear the answering machine that office hours are from 9-5.I was told the next day that to change or re- book the ticket was not possible without a penalty of some sort. I was informed that the situation would be handed over to Air France to see what they could do. It took AF 10 days to get back to us.
They would change the ticket for R10421. This was more than double the original ticket. We had no choice but to pay the extra. They also took so long to get back to us that the time window to get a temporary visa expired. I feel that we have been RIPPED OFF and would like a discount voucher for a later flight or some compensation.
