Cancellation of my membership

I am a member of flexiclub for more than 5 years. last year in september i send them email regarding my cancellation, hear nothing. in december 2012 i registered post them the cancellation no coment.. this year they send me my member annual statement of R10 000 rand plus. when i contacted them they told me about the cancellation to be in between jan and may in 2013. i did not receive any correspondence from them regarding this neither find it in my contract. what happened to my correspondencce of last year???
i have to pay the full amount for the year.
