I checked in for my flight from JHB to Durban very early. Upon arrival in King Shaka Airport when i went to collect my baggage from the carousels. My baggage was one of the last bags to come out and much to my horror they were Blatently open with my clothes hanging out!!! I was one of four travellers who this had happened to on the same flight! When i went to baggage assistance they tell me that i have to follow procedure and explained that because i didnt have travel insurance i get paid out $20 per kilo. My R500 T Shirt and R600 bottle of perfume weighs in at under 500 grams. So im suppose to bear the brunt and possibly collect a lousy R90 for loss after a mountain of paperwork!!! Later i noticed that the inner casing of my bag was cracked as well! This is a poor excuse for an airline and an embarrassment to airlines internationally. How can this happen in Broad daylight to not 1 but 4 peoples baggage. What is mango doing to rectify it??? Instead they make more money by selling travel insurance!! Flying is suppose to be the quickest and most hassle free means of transport, now they forced you to buy travel insurance pay extra for wrapping. NEVER FLYING MANGO AGAIN
