I have close to 40000 miles expiring soon. I noticed in the programme guide that Miles can be redeemed for UCount miles (First lifestyle option after car hire). At 1 Voyager mile to 1 UCount mile I should have known this was too good to be true. On phoning the call centre I was told that this cannot be done, one can only covert UCount to Voyager. I refered the agent to the relevant section of the website and was then put on hold whilst the agent checked. Needless to say the website was incorrect - SAA please check info before publishing.
As a aside I find Voyager to be a programme totally lacking in value compared to a when I initially joined. There are in most instances no seats on desired flights, and if there are the taxes to be paid are often 60-80% of the cost of a ticket on another airline. Of in excess of a dozen car hire milage submissions in 2013 only one was reflected on my account Conversion ratios for non air rewards are absurd compared to BA and others. I doubt that I will be retaining my membership for much longe
