I arrived at the airport at 06h45 for a Lanseria bound Kulula flight departing King Shaka International airport at 07h55. I was not allowed to board the flight as the name on the reservation does not appear on my ID document. Despite producing documentary proof that the name on my reservation belongs to me and my company on official government documents and my company letterheads on the request of the check in staff, I was told that my booking cannot be amended and I will forfeit payment for the reservation. I was advised to purchase a new ticket if I intended getting to Joburg. I later left the ticket sales counter disappointed and annoyed. With the intervention of the booking originator June Wilson assisted me to amend the booking and ensured that I travelled to Joburg on an amended ticket even though I was an hour and a half later than my initial reservation. Thanks a million June, you rock. Kulula can do with people like you. I learnt a valuable lesson in all this, CHEAP IS ALWAYS EXPENSIVE. After the additional payment I had to make to effect the amendments to my initial booking. The irony of it all is that I flew British Airways in the end of all the drama.
