I've been assisting my neighbour with a booking from RSA to Frankfurt Germany. He is in his mid 70's and don't own a credit card. He contacted the reservations call centre on 9 May 2013 in order to book his flight (departing 19 Aug 2013 returning 15 September 2013) and to get their banking details in order to pay for his flight. He paid the ticket on the same day (9 May 2013) with ref 5E4QHL. When I phoned the call centre today to confirm the booking on his behalf, I was told that the booking has expired due to non payment and that the flight is already full. The proof of payment must apparently be faxed to someone... this info would have been helpful at the time that he made the booking!! Can you please explain to me how the payment was not picked up and allocated to his booking??? Why do we add reference numbers to proof of payments then? How do you explain R8000.00 just sitting in your company bank account? He will now have to make a new reservation at double the price!!! This is unacceptable and extremely poor services! I demand that this issue is resolved and that my neighbour gets his flight as per his original booking. He is a pensioner!!!
