Arriving at CTIA's domestic terminal last night at 11.30 pm, from a SAA A340-200 that was at least 90% full, there were fewer than 10 trolleys available in the entire departures hall.
There were at least 100 though stacked outside and cordoned off with red and white tape outside the terminal at the entrance where they should have been bought in.
SAA ground staff did try and get them in, but whomever it was that manages the trolleys refused, offering empty promises to do so. the G4S security that man that door, were unwavering in allowing passengers to get trolleys from "outside the terminal". Eventually after 12.15am passengers were so tired and frustrated that they resorted to packing their luggage onto the ample supply of wheel chairs and using them as make shift trolleys. Not great for those needing wheel chairs as they are now distributed all over the airport and surrounding parking lots.
Really pathetic service from "africa's best airport" - what a joke
