Checking in to Ethiopian Airlines at OR Tambo Airport was not a nice experience!
1) The Ethiopian Airlines queue was so long, it took one and a half hours to get to the counter!!!
2) The luggage allowance on the ticket said just "2pcs", and did not mention any weight restrictions. So I checked at the counter in advance, and they said 30Kg is fine. When my turn arrived, they said my ticket was restricted to two pieces of luggage of no more than 23Kg each. So I had to re-pack half of it into my cabin case, and send it in the hull. Why can't they say so on the ticket?!
3) They changed my flight to Singapore via Bangkok to a direct flight, but did not bother to even tell me about it or that my arrival time will therefore change.
4) They then sent me to the ticket counter to verify my credit card and get a photocopy of it. Why could they not tell us to do so in advance?!
5) The flight was then 2 hours late, and it look like I will now miss my direct connection.
6) The delay was not announced, and the take-off time on the display remained the original 2:30, which made us very worried we would miss it!
(My friend's check-in at Doha airways, with one case of 30Kg, took just 5 minutes.)
