Myciti Bus Service
Injudicious Penalties

On the19/11/ I loaded with R80 for mover points at Civic centre. When tapping out in Sunningdale, I had insufficient funds. This morning I went to civic centre to enquire. I was told that if you tap in with money value, you need to tap out with money value. The system doesn't pick up the points loaded. Therefore they are going to impose a penalty fee of R24 for not having sufficient money value (irrespective of the mover points worth R80 on my card). However the penalty will be deducted from my mover points, the traveling fare could not be deducted from point. That's how I found out about this rule as it is not stated anywhere. who ever come up with the concept invested all his energy on how to levy penalties more than offering a better service, which goes against the myCITI VISION AND OBJECTIVES. In July I had a R16 Levied on my card. I enquired this. I requested a print out . there was no where it showed I didn't tap out. I was told to use my resources to get a copy of ID and submit this query &their turnaround time is 3O WORKING DAYS with possibility of being denied. Meaning I had to re load to cover my fare as the investigation was going to be a month long.
