We had a flight booked for 12pm on 7 November. Since we have a 4month old baby we chose to fly business class and selected seats in row 1 for the bassinet. However upon checking in, we were told there is no space for us on this flight and we have to wait an hour before flying. I dont have to explain how challenging it is to fly with a baby and having the inconvenience of having to wait longer. When we enquired as to why we were bumped off, the manager told us that the captain's wife was on the plane and she had priority. It was further mentioned that he had to be in the right frame of mind to fly the plane.
If this was my airline staff would be the first people to be delayed, not paying customers, and especially not those with babies.
