After my father died, my mom tried to cancel their Flexi club membership. She was instructed for estate purposes to transfer the membership to her name and told to pay the annual fee's in a single lump sum. This she did. She then asked to close the account and was told they couldn't do that as the membership was less than 5 years old! After numerous emails and calls we were finally offered a solution to transfer to a pensioner's club, which involved transfer fees and the annual fee. Due to travel and the agent being unavailable due to an apparent role change we only arranged to pay some weeks after the initial offer. Now flexi club/club leisure state the offer is no longer available - though no deadline was ever stated - & my mom has to pay the whole annual fee amount before they will cancel or transfer the membership to the pensioner's club.
This is beyond unethical and completely unreasonable. How many hoops does one have to jump through to get help? This is also after multiple attempts to resolve this via phone and email, most of which has just been ignored.
I will never recommend Flexi Club or Club leisure to anyone. This has been a nightmare and very stressful for my mom.
