I make use of MTN's dongle and internet. I used to live in Waverley, Pretoria where I got ok'ish reception. I work and live in Lynnwood now. There is 52 MTN towers within a 5km radius from me (I know that because my brother works for Huawei on their MTN project and erects these towers). I have HORRIBLE internet reception here as well as phone reception. I called their helpline today and spoke to a lady whose name I couldn't get because she is not speaking clearly. She didn't listen to what I was trying to tell her.
The problem is not with my MODEM, it is with my connection. I visited my brother in Krugersdorp this weekend and my internet reception as well as download speed was amazing. I get back home and I have almost ZERO reception and a VERY slow speed.
I use my internet for work and this is really unacceptable for me. My brother, knowing what he is talking about, said that all they need to do is change something at the tower itself. It can be done remotely via their offices in 14th Avenue in Roodepoort.
I am not at all happy with the service I have been getting from MTN lately and I'm not happy with their HELPLINE staff!!
