My 2gig MTN 3g data bundle which is "capped" at 2gig and R149. pm was intercepted by an employee. As I had put a cap on it with autopage, I trusted that the employee would not be able to exceed that R149.00 for that calender month. However, shortly after it was intercepted, I got call from Autopage saying that the consumption charges were at R1600.00. I denied liabiltiy and told them that there is a cap which they explained, doesnt always work, that it works sometimes and does not work other times. As it is not in their interest to stop consumption, as if there is less consumption the greedy buggers make less money. I told them to stop the 3 g data card immediately they agreed reluctantly. Today I have received a bill for R3289.20.on a 3 g card which is capped at R149.00 pm. Personally I feel like this is more like an intricate where the bank is also involved as I have a debit order to Autopage which the bank will honour whether or not I dispute the charge. A type of white collar daylight if you will.
