Premature cancellation

I'm trying to prematurely cancel my contract but seem to be confused by different answers received from the consultants within the retention's department. Having spoken to three various consultants, the last one seemed more helpful but now i'm confused.
I have received a premature cancellation quotation for the amount of R383.50, which i was advised by Thembelihle Milazi that i need not make the payment to do the premature cancell as it will be my last debit order that will be deducted at month end. and also that my airtime i currently have will not be lost due to me not deleting the number. But after completing the form and sending back to Vodacom i received an email stating that "The cancellation has been loaded for the 31/05/2013"
Can somebody kindly assist by providing me with clarity. All i want is to prematurely cancel my contract from Top up 315 to prepaid and to retain my existing airtime!
