Vodacom charges existing customers old data rate

I am really not impressed. I have had my cellphone contract with Vodacom for 6 years. I have always been happy with the service, and would recommend it as the best ISP to friends.

I recently signed a 24 month data MyGig 1 contract to use with my tablet. The prices came down this month, to be more competitive with MTN and CellC, so I expected my monthly bill to drop too. I have since been informed that this is not the case, I will be charged the "old rate". Sorry for my language, but this is absolute. What about the consumer act? How can they charge a new customer a cheaper rate, for the SAME product.

If the price of the data has dropped, how can they still charge me the old rate? Dropping their rates to be more competitive, but then charging existing customers the old over priced rate doesn't make any sense.

I am now considering cancelling both of my Vodacom contracts, to move to an ISP with better data rates.

I refuse to be ripped off...
