UNETHICAL BILLING PRACTICE

My 24 month contract ended in early January 2013. I did not cancel or upgrade this contract and left it on a month to month basis. However MTN has been billing me the promo fee in this period following the expiry of the contract. The promo fee is essentially charged for the handset and should not be billed past the 24 month period. The first agent I phoned from MTN told me that I should have cancelled the contract or moved to prepaid in order to have not been billed the promo fee. She told me to phone later to move the contract to prepaid. When I called again, the second agent at MTN said that this fee should not have been charged and logged a query. However other peoples posts on the net indicate that this is a common practice with MTN. They will only take corrective steps once a query is lodged. On a volume basis they are making alot of easy money with this practice
This is a corrupt practice for a corporate giant like MTN and they should be taken up for this.
