In Feb 2013 i went from contract to prepaid. Yesterday I needed to load BIS for the second time since on prepaid. I dialed the number i saved the previous time, but there was no option for BIS just BISBES. Not knowing what the difference is i chose the option. Got an error saying that the service is currently unavailable and that i should try again later. Tried phoning 173 x10 times and couldnt get through. Got to a different menu with the optioin of the R59 data bundle. Chose the option and again got the screen to try again in 15 minutes. Tried another 3 times and the same. When i checked my airtime this cost me R140 instead of R59.
Tried phoning customer care and could not get through. Decided to go to MTN in Rivonia on the 26th of March. Got told that i have to phone customer care. Stood there for 1.5 hours while MTN employee tried to phone 173. How pathetic. Apparently you are not seen as a client anymore when you go on to prepaid services. After the 1.5 hours they told me that the wrong option was selected and all clients were notified by email that it is no longer called BIS. I didnt get that email. I paid R140 for a service that i dont even use and i cant get my money back
