The following complaint was sent to Vodacom on 11 March and then again on 19 March - no response has been received as yet
"I am based in either Melkbosstrand (near Cape Town) or Cape Town city centre and have a complaint that I can never have a proper Skype call (never mind a video call) as the data access on my modem is so poor.
This has been the case for more than 3 months despite being near cell phone towers. Similarly I can never get online to even access emails properly when I am in Riverclub Jhb.
In addition, at the moment I have been trying to connect for 1.5 hours in Cape Town city centre and cannot even access emails - never mind Skype.
It seems to me that the product that Vodacom sells (data access), it is unable to deliver and quite frankly I have had enough of this now.
Please advise how I can have permanent access to a Skype call, Skype videocall and internet access using my Vodacom modem otherwise I am going to cancel it and take a complaint to the body that deals with complaints in terms of the Consumer Protection Act."
Follow up - to date I still have shocking access in Cape Town city centre.
