Bad design of 8ta dongle

I have already had my 8ta dongle replaced at the Festival Mall branch. It took approximately more than ten days and they replaced it with a new one. The new 8ta dongle is giving the same problems. It overheats and then looses internet connection. I am more concerned that the device can damage my new laptop since it generates a lot of heat. Heat and technology never go together! I already lost one laptop but I can't prove that it was the overheating dongle. I don't think it will help to replace the dongle with a new one since it is my suspicion that this is a design problem with this make of dongle (two in a row having the same problem) What to do about it? I would prefer a different type of dongle but I don't know if they make any. I also can't be offline another two weeks for the 8ta shop to determine if there is something wrong with it... unfortunately service delivery at the Festival Mall Telkom shop is very slow and I had to repeatedly follow up with them before I had the problem resolved. I request one of Telkoms' managers to look into the matte
