1. After many logged calls i have come to terms with the fact that my R10000 Iphone 5 handset cannot send a basic sms on the 8ta/telkom mobile network. Its clear that all iphone 5 users have this same problem based on the amount of calls logged for this.
2. LTE was advertised as part of the Iphone 5 marketing campaign on the 8ta network. On this basis I took out a 24 month contract. After several calls and online chats with the help desk I am now being told after almost 12 months that the Iphone 5 will not work on Telkoms LTE network because its not the correct frequency.
Every time I called in I was told that its not working yet and that they will let me know as soon as it goes live. Was that all?
3. Apparently i need to use an LTE router and then connect my iPhone 5 that way, lol, never in my life have a heard such a ludicrous idea, am I supposed to walk around with an LTE router under my arm???
I am giving Telkom mobile a chance to allow me to cancel my contract under a false advertising clause, i will also be lodging this with the advertising standards authority for investigation.
