I have a BB and a topup 100 contract with MTN. My sister sent me a link for a News 24 articles stating that MTN is doing away with BIS. I read in the article that this will be valid from 1 March 2013. I also read something about 200MB. It was all very unclear so I called MTN. The agent was not very sure of herself and said that it was not finalised that it would start on 1 March. When I asked her why I have not heard anything, the call conveniently dropped. I sent an e-mail to MTN and received the response that the internet speed has been capped at 200MB and that I will get another 200MB per month. I then went to a store for assistance and they told me that they are not sure as this is all very new to them. All that I know is that I signed a contract with MTN for R169/month which includes BIS. With this being removed I see it as a breach of contract. I'm supposed to pay the same for less? Why was I not informed? I am very disappointed in MTN. With this breach of contract, can I take my number, end my contract and go to a dfferent provider?
