Cell C
Bad OBF Service - iPhone 5

On the 29th of January i picked up my iPhone 5 from Cell C. It had a defective battery and I took it back to the store within 48 hours. I was informed of the 7-14 day OBF policy and given a Nokia 1209 as a courtesy phone. Not good enough for an iPhone 5 replacement IMO.

14 days came and went, delays were blamed on stock take at the OBF center. after 19 days I got a new phone with a good battery, but the included earphones don't work. Now I'm told that they'll have to send the phone to the OBF center to get the earphones replaced (meaning I'll be stuck with a 1209 again and risk getting another faulty iPhone). At the same time they tell me earphones are not covered by OBF or the warranty.

I spoke to a salesperson at Core Group, who said Cell C bears the exclusive responsibility for the warranty on phones they distribute, and should provide replacement earphones at their expense.

I have spent about to R200 on petrol and phone calls to try and get the various issues sorted out, anything more and I might as well just buy myself new earphones.

I would also like to know why it is acceptable practice for Cell C to ignore their 7-14 day OBF policy.
