I just want to warn anybody who wants to sign up for a Cell C contract. They have outdated and plain stupid policies on contracts.

I don't want anyone being duped into converting to Cell C just because they're cheaper. 1st of all they don't have data rollover. 2nd any data purchased is pro rata for a calender month. 3rd any data bundles activated will become recurring charges.

Now I'm stuck in a 2 year contract. And over and above everything I was unable to get through to a consultant on the 144 line for the better part of a week. Eventually I had to send an email and wait a further 24-48 hours for someone to contact me and explain the above.

And just to clarify pro rata data on a calender month works like this: If you purchase 300Mb data half way through the month you only get 150Mb for that month. So the closer you get to month end the less data you receive. Then it becomes a recurring charge the following month. So even though I need data right now I can't get it. They want to force you out of bundle to charge you more.

It really is questionable practise from them as other providers have moved away from this type of billing and policies a long time ago.
