How to inconvenience your customers!

On 1st Feb I signed a 2-year contract with Vodacom at the Sandton City branch. A very helpful young lady called Lerato did a lot of homework working out what would best suit my needs so I signed the contract at that branch so that she would be paid commission even though it's out of my way.
Within a few days I realised the battery wasn't lasting well and called. She said there had been problems with this phone and I would need to go in and get it tested. A bit of a hassle for me as it's so far. I eventually went last Thursday as I had other business in that area, and was told by a young man that the phone is out of warranty?!
I called Customer "Care" and had the pleasure of the charming and extremely unhelpful consultant Joey, who took great delight in advising that she was unable to help me as that's not an issue with which the call centre deals. She told me to go back to the shop. I told her it's too out of my way, and asked if there wasn't some other way of resolving my problem which was not so inconvenient. She said 'no'.
A more unpleasant person I don't recall meeting in recent years. I don't think she is suitable in that position at all.
I am VERY disappointed in Vodacom.
