Phone line dead

On 30 Decemeber my ADSL went dead but my phone worked. It only got fixed on about the 12 January.
On 10 February my ADSL and phone line got noisy. On the phone line it was so noisy at times I could not talk on it. On 11 February the phone line died. Still have ADSL but with a SNR of about a 5.
Everytime I phone for an update I get the line "Awaiting for technician to be assigned."
I've escalated the call in telkom and gotten a ref number. Not sure what the use of that is as it appears it has no action connected to it.
