@lantic did contact me. I received conflicting information from the shop and then from customer contact person. It is almost 2 weeks now. I understand that the modem could not be repaired, therefore it has to be replaced. Since it is such an "issue" to honour the guarantee, I am hereby giving notice that I intend to file a case with the Small Claim Court, if nothing happens this week. The Court for Small Claims, require that you must have proof of communication. So I will use this as a means of communication.
