Contracts not what promised on upgrade

02/12/2012, I upgraded phone contracts for my wife and I. We had BlackBerry top up 275. I upgraded to a Talk 500, my wife stayed on the top up both on Samsung SIII. We visited 2 different Vodacom stores to confirm the terms & conditions & upgraded at the Vodashop Midlands Mall.

Being happy with the blackberry contract we had, we requested a similar deal. I needed more call time upfront hence the Talk 500 was recommended.

Both reps at the 2 stores told us that data would remain unlimited within the package. We understood that data to browse internet/social media was included as before.

By 09/12/2012, all our credit was inexplicably used up. From customer care, we learned that data was now charged per mb and recommended to purchase MORE data in bundles, at extra cost! This was news. We were angry: my wife was travelling overseas that day, had saved up R700 credit prior to the upgrade to ensure calls overseas. That this important costing detail was not clarified has cost us greatly. To date, it seems all the T&C and pricing we were promised was false. Customer services promised us a credit note to reimburse us for R 700 that was unknowingly used. This never came.

Very unhappy.
