I received a bill for R16253.10 for January! I have a 750mg contract. My understanding is that when you buy 750mgs that is what you contracted. Once my 750 megs ran out I was automatically charged R1 per meg! But it seems that Vodacom have taken it upon themselves to build in a system that means that you are nailed if you exceed what you contracted to purchase per month and they have no accountability to assist you in alerting you to it at a reasonable point. They noticed an 'out of ordinary usage' on my data bundle. Not once I went over my bundle but R16253 before they called me to find out if this might be due to a problem. Why was I not informed when they realised I had gone over the 750mg! Someone contacted me and said they would try and resolve the matter and get back to me. Its now two weeks later and still no response.
