How is it my fault?

I renewed my 3G contract with MTN and they sent me a new Modem, this modem never worked and I returned it to MTN. It was booked for repairs at Morningside Service Center. MTN never called me to let me know what has happened to my modem, until the day I received a call from one of their sales lady trying to sell me a phone. I told her about my 3G and she gave me a number to call. I called the number and I was told that my Modem couldn't be repaired so I must collect a new one. Ok, fair enough. So two weeks back, I went to MTN to get my modem and I was told that I will not get a modem because the repair whatever has been quarantined;? Huh??? What that this mean??

I cancelled my contract for this 3G and MTN forced me to pay R2000... for the same modem that they don't want to return today? Somebody pls tell me what was I paying for? Is it my fault that YOUR modem was faulty and you couldn't even fix it? Is this the kind of service that you give to your clients? Turning them away while you suppose to assist them? Pls MTN... I want my modem!!! Don't rob people because you think you have policies that only makes sense to you...
